District Softball Teams: 2017 Process for Team Selections

 

I. Eligibility
  • NOTE: a girl may only play on one District Level team
  • 10U District Teams: girls who are softball ages 9 and 10 are eligible (birth years 2007 and 2006)
  • 11U District Team: girls who are softball ages 10 and 11 are eligible (birth years 2006 and 2005)*
  • 12U District Team: girls who are softball ages 11 and 12 are eligible (birth years 2005 and 2004)
II. Team Selections
  1. The District all-star teams will be comprised of the top ranked girls at each age level, and will be chosen based on the process outlined below.
  2. All girls who play the required number of games during the Spring season are permitted to register for consideration for inclusion on an age-appropriate District team; registration must be complete by the posted deadline; a District team manager will be chosen by the President, Vice President of Softball and Player Agent following the registration period.
  3. Following the registration period, the managers from the Spring Season will be asked to rank the girls who have registered, based on their play during the regular season (a ranking of 1 will be given to the top player)
  4. A meeting will then be held amongst the District Team Manager, Spring team managers, and the league Player Agent to discuss the merits of each player seeking placement on a District team. The first nine (9) players chosen for the District team will be made by consensus among this group.  The balance of the players chosen for the District team will be made by the District Team Manager.

*Note that the 11U District Team will be chosen (if there are enough girls to field a team) following the team selections for the 10U and 12U District Teams.
