My my My my
On Monday, May 27, West Windsor Little League marched in the West Windsor Memorial Day Parade. We estimate that about 190 players, from both baseball and softball, in all age groups from mini T-ball to Majors, marched in uniform along with dozens of parents and coaches. It was a sunny and fair day after a mostly cool week. We distributed bottled water with our own labels to thirsty parade watchers and marchers. Players enjoyed ice cream while gathering at High School South before the parade.

The parade featured both high school marching bands, local police and fire departments, West Windsor Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, Wildcats Football and Cheer teams, members of the West Windsor Township Council, and of course, current and past members of the U.S. Armed Forces. A ceremony at the municipal center was highlighted by a speech by Mayor Hsueh, and presentation of a memorial wreath. After the ceremony, the crowd was treated to hot dogs and drinks, courtesy of the township.

WWLL would like to thank all those volunteers and their wonderful children who helped both before and during the parade. Their hard work resulted in a well-organized event that everyone enjoyed.

Dear Little League Parents,
Monday, May 27 is Memorial Day and WWLL is once again participating in the West Windsor Memorial Day Parade.  We encourage your young player to attend this community event (there will be ice cream!).  Managers and coaches of your child's team will lead his or her team in the procession, and all our teams will parade after the veterans but before township men and women in uniforms. The following is the parade schedule for WWLL:
  • 10:00am- Teams of all divisions gather at the High School South Hill and ice cream distribution starts
    • See the Google Map at the bottom of email for the marked location.
    • Each player should receive one ticket from his or her manager, coach, or a designated adults for the team before getting the ice cream from WWLL booth
  • 10:30am- Ice cream distribution ends. Line-up starts
  • 11:00am- Parade starts, from High School South Parking lot
  • 12:00pm- Ceremony starts, at the West Windsor Municipal Complex, corner of Clarksville and North Post, followed by hot dogs and soda
On Monday, before you start, please doublecheck that your child
  • wears the team uniform,
  • is adequately hydrated and brings a water bottle, and
  • wears sun block or other sun protection
We look forward to seeing your child at the parade.
