On Monday, May 31, West Windsor Little League marched in the West Windsor Memorial Day Parade. Over 160 players, from both baseball and softball, in all age groups from T-ball to Majors, marched in uniform along with dozens of parents and coaches. It was a beautiful, warm day and parade watchers were treated with complimentary WWLL labeled spring water. Players enjoyed ice cream while gathering at High School South before the parade.
The parade featured both high school marching bands, local police and fire departments, West Windsor Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, members of the Town Council, and of course, current and past members of the U.S. Armed Forces. A ceremony at the municipal center was highlighted by a speech by Mayor Shing Fu Hsueh, presentation of a memorial wreath, and a 21 gun salute (always a favorite). After the ceremony, the crowd was treated to hot dogs and drinks, courtesy of the township.
WWLL would like to thank all those volunteers who helped both before and during the parade. Their hard work resulted in a well organized event that everyone enjoyed.
