Being selected to represent West Windsor Little League in the various All Star tournaments from ages 7-12 is an honor and we hope that your child truly enjoys the experience. Part of being an All Star is supporting the other teams playing this summer - please continue to check our Facebook page and website for updates to games being played and try and get out to check out a few. Support is always appreciated!
I want to take a moment to thank you for being part of West Windsor Little League this season. We had more than 400 kids on 40+ teams participate from Mini Tee ball to Baseball & Softball Majors. While the rain hindered us at times, you all made the best of it! Over 70 local companies lent their support to our League and purchased banners or uniforms, sponsored the Hit-A-Thon, as well as the 11 year old Baseball All Star team.
We could not have done all of this without your support! You managed or coached teams, worked concession, picked up trash, handed out ice cream and water at the (wet) Memorial Day parade, announced games, raked the fields and more. Many of you did much more - coordinating Leagues, ordering uniforms and trophies, managing the concession or coordinating the umpires. There is so much that goes into the Spring League that having willing volunteers is amazing. We are always in need of more help - whether you have 10 minutes or 10 hours - please do not hesitate to reach out.
This year was a memorable one for all of us as we held our first ever Hit-A-Thon for charity. Through the efforts of many people, West Windsor Little League raised more than $14,000 to benefit vs-Cancer.org. This charity raises money for pediatric cancer research and fifty-percent of all funds raised will stay in Mercer County, benefiting CHOP-Plainsboro. We will continue to raise money through August 21st if you'd like to donate.
The All Star and Summer Rec season will be starting soon so there will be more games to watch and play if you are interested. Please continue to check our website and Facebook page for updates. Fall Ball registration will also open late summer for even more opportunities. As many of you know, Summer Camps are also offered - for softball through the wwll.org website with Pat Cleary and for baseball through Power Pitching and Hitting at www.powerpitchingandhitting.com.
Thank you again. I wish you all a healthy and happy summer!
Thank you to all those that came out to WWLL's 1st Annual Hit-A-Thon to benefit the Vs.Cancer Fundraiser for fighting pediatric cancer. To date, through your hard work, we have raised more than $13,000 for this worthy cause. Check out our fundraising page here. Many tried and few succeeded but the winners are listed below:
1. Ava Mayer
2. Livi Duguay
3. Delaney Keegan
1. Jason Carroll
2. Luis Saldivia
3. Caleb Kasof
And while the hitting was fun, the main reason we were all there tonight was to raise funds for an important cause and we'd like to recognize those who raised the most money:
1. Alexander Gelade
2. Jacob Klein
3. Caleb & Jonah Kasof
Thanks to all those helped out, especially Jack Demouth, Brian Mayer, Adina Kasof, Scott Gelade, Frank Pometti, Mike Vogt, Trish Pelc for all their help. Thanks also go out to our sponsors, Vijay Aluwalia from Edward Jones for providing ice cream to all the kids and Power Pitching and Hitting for providing the baseballs. It wouldn't have happened without all of you!
